High Tech Company Services Global Market from Hamilton Base

High tech interactive voice messaging company TALKINGtech is successfully servicing an impressive international corporate client base from their two datacentres in Hamilton.

With the help of Velocity Networks, a local ultra-high speed broadband network provider, TALKINGtech is able to send out hundreds of thousands of automated voice messages to end-customers of their corporate clients, typically mobile phone and telecommunication providers, government organisations and large utility companies.

In addition to providing TALKINGtech with ultra-high speed internet access to carry their automated voice calls, Velocity provides the company with a cross-town Metro Ethernet service to connect their two datacentres located in the CBD and Hamilton East. Prior to selecting Velocity as their internet access partner, TALKINGtech investigated a wide range of alternative hosting options in Auckland. The final decision to host in Hamilton was based on them having their development and technical resource based in the city and being confident that they had access to suitably capable supply partners.

Chris O'Donoghue, Chief Technology Officer at TALKINGtech, says, "The automated outbound calling services that we provide are 'mission critical' to the successful operation of our clients. We got to a stage two years back where our internet volumes were growing at such a rapid rate that we needed a more cost-effective and scalable solution to keep pace with company growth," he adds.

The nature of their business demands that TALKINGtech provides its corporate clients with guaranteed network uptime through a range of Service Level Agreements (SLA's). "Velocity understands the importance of this and we've tailored a support programme that minimises downtime and restricts scheduled network maintenance to off-peak periods," says Shane Hobson, Business Development Manager at Velocity Networks.
